A. Grading System

Each classroom teacher will explain to the class their grading requirements.

  1. PACE grade scales are established by A.C.E. An 80% is required to pass Pace’s.
  2. In traditional classes, other factors besides the actual test grade (such as homework, class participation, tardiness, etc.) might affect the student’s grade. The grading scale has been set at:

    A+ 100
    A 99–95
    A- 94–93
    B+ 92–91
    B 90–87
    B- 86–85
    C+ 84–83
    C 82–78
    C- 77–76
    D+ 75–74
    D 73–68
    D- 67–65
    F 64 and below.

  3. An incomplete is given when the requirements for the class have not been met per quarter. A student has 3 weeks after the end of the quarter to do the incomplete work at 0%, averaged in with the student’s other grades in that subject that quarter. Work still not done after three weeks will cause the student to fail the quarter and lose the credit for the quarter.

  4. Report Cards and Honor Roll: Report cards are issued following each quarter. An “A” Honor Roll and a “B” Honor Roll list will be published each quarter. A.C.E. classes must complete a minimum of 3 Paces per quarter (unless finishing a credit or grade level early) to be eligible. An Incomplete in any subject, or any “D” or “F” grades make a student ineligible for Honor Roll

B. Graduation Requirements

  1. High School Diploma: 22 total credits are required for graduation. A student must have a minimum of 4 English credits, 3 Math credits, 4 Social Studies credits, 2 Science credits, 2 Bible credits, 2 PE/Health credits, and 5 electives.

  2. General Diploma (GED): Students who are unable to complete sufficient required credits at the High School level will be given credit at the rate of 1 unit per 10 Paces beginning the 9th grade. 22 credits are required for graduation. These graduates will receive a general diploma.
